Catalina Noriega, 61, of Champaign, formerly of Alsip. Beloved mother of Lisa Martinez, Laurie (Chris) Pettigrew and Christina (Calvin) Cooper. Cherished grandmother of Salomon Medina, Tamara Medina, Aleena Pettigrew, Cali Cooper, Catalina Cooper, Caira Cooper and Santiago Peat. Loving daughter of Catalina McGrach nee Oceguera and the late Jose Noriega. Dear sister of Luis (MaryJo) Noriega, Virginia Mitchell, Lolita Noriega, Esperanza Noriega, Carolina (Arturo) Arellano, Veronica (Sandor) Brattstrom, Cynthia (Tim) Strickland and the late Jose Noriega. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Catalina was a registered nurse, employed by Carle Hospital in Urbana for nearly a year and previously by Palos Hospital in Palos Heights and Holy Cross Hospital of Chicago Catalina (Nena) loved nothing more than spending time with family. She recently moved to Champaign to be with her daughters, son in laws and grandkids. There she spent the last years of her life supporting her grandkids at their sporting events, attending births and graduations, painting canvases and pottery with her daughters and celebrating multiple milestones. She worked hard all of her life both professionally and personally. She lived and dedicated her life to taking care of others. She leaves her family a legacy of living a life for Christ. Catalina was the most loving, warm-hearted, good-natured woman there could be. She was loved by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave. Blue Island. Cremation private. Celebration of Life banquet will be held on Sunday, September 6th, 12:00 noon at the Candle Light Banquets, 10625 Ridgeland Ave., Chicago Ridge.
